Beat the heat with some stripes

Hi all!
This is a long due post. I should have been out with this last Monday but the whole week was super hectic! Have you guys noticed how "in" the blue stripes are? Well I can speak for India and I would say I see them everywhere- Chemistry, AND etc. etc. I am not complaining here. I love these stripes as they are perfect for the summers.
Today's look combines two of the most trending elements of this season- blue stripes and off-shoulder. I chose this dress because it was off-shoulder. You see off-shoulder tops everywhere but dresses are still not that common. In case you are picking up an off shoulder dress, do ensure that the elastic at the top is broad and not very tight!
This is the last casual look for the month to come! The blue and white stripes went perfectly well with the white sneakers. I wanted to use cool color tone in jewelry too so used this silver neck piece in place of the cliched choker. And lastly for the harsh sun, I used my blue sunnies.

Varsity Stripe Tee Shirt Dress

Hi there!
The outfit that I bring to you today is timeless in my opinion. You would have spotted your favorite style icon wearing it once at least. It is known as the "Varsity Stripe Tee Shirt Dress". I know the name is complicated but the style is that much simple. I have had this dress since quite some time now and I have worn it for every occasion (movies/day-out/clubbing). This also makes a perfect airport look. I am literally in love with this and I wear it all the time because this look is so effortless. You can never go wrong with this dress. For this summer, you got to have a varsity tee shirt dress! You will find this style easily in Forever 21 or H&M. It would save you on all those times when you want to look ultra chic without much work.
You would have mostly spotted this tee shirt dress in black or white. I wanted to pick something different and hence chose the burgundy color. I wanted this to be a very comfortable every day look. So I chose these white sneakers which compliment with the dress quite well. I put on a backpack with this as it is stylish and has great utility for running everyday chores. Lastly, I accessorized it with a choker to go with the overall sporty look.
Do let me know what did you like about the look. Also let me know how would you do it differently?

Back-to-school Denim-on-Denim Zaful Look

Hi everyone!
Today's look is something that is very common and yet I had never tried it in the past. I was pretty apprehensive about how it would look but to my surprise it turned out just fine! This look is perfect for college or school goers as it is stylish, comfortable and most importantly acceptable based on dress-code.
I have picked all the pieces of this outfit from Zaful. I was looking for the perfect ripped jeans for a long time and was unsuccessful. I was looking for something which had loads of rips and was very light blue in color. When I saw this ripped jeans I was immediately sold because it not only fulfilled my criteria, it also was high-waisted which simply added cherry to the top. While browsing through their website I also came across this denim tank top and decided to do a denim-on-denim look. When the top arrived, I have to admit it exceeded my expectations. I love the way it flares- it brings the entire outfit back to the chic zone. Since it was a college look, I teamed it up with a backpack to carry your books etc. I added black slip-on to the look for the comfort. And to add a little more style to it, I put on a choker- something the entire world is raving these days- bracelet and rings.

Unfortunately guys the top is not available any more. But do not worry, you can also try their white see through dresses as they would be perfect for these summers. They are recent arrivals and I would be buying them pretty soon!

Pastels for summer

Hi guys!
A few days back I came across an article mentioning the ideal color combinations. I fell in love with each and every combination and decided that I will try them all. I then visited Forever 21 store and saw the perfect jumpsuit to start this color combination journey. I know I am wayyyy over 21 but I still love visiting Forever 21 because their clothes are always keeping up with the trend and they are very affordable. You never return without a yellow bag!
Today I bring to you an outfit that is all pastel to keep up with the ongoing summer. This outfit is perfect for a day date or a brunch with your girlies! I am a big fan of jumpsuits because of their versatility- you can wear it for a day out or for a clubbing night. It never looks out of place.
This jumpsuit was available in different colors. I picked the pastel pink color for a day look. The material is very soft cotton/cotton blend and the style is flowy and comfortable. I teamed it up with a light mauve colored bag to keep up with the pastel theme and used golden accessories. I paired it up with beige sandals from Aldo to blend with the pastel theme.

Red affair with Dresslily

Aaah... I can't tell you how much I yearn to come back to this space and just write and write! But alas! Work comes in the middle of my love for blogging. This year's resolution is to be much more active in this space (I know I am a tad too late with May already halfway!)
Today I have come up with a very chic look which would be perfect for a date night. I love the color red- it is bold and classy at the same time! If you open my closet, you will see that the majority of the dresses are red.
Coming back to the look- I picked this red dress from Dresslily as it comes with the season's hottest trend- the cold shoulder style.  The fabric for this dress does justice to the style of it. It fits you as if it was custom made for you and outlines a very pretty shape. I went with a red lip color to go with the dress. Red looks lovely with black and golden. You can style the dress with pumps or sandals. I wanted to give it a bit of a romantic look so I went with black sandals. To add more black to the look, I paired it up with a black clutch. The necklace is where I had to put the maximum thought. I wanted to wear something sleek so that it doesn't take the focus away from the dress and so I picked this very pretty golden necklace. I am sure I will be wearing this necklace in a lot of looks because it is so unique in style!

Zaful Stripes in Pattaya

Hi my lovelies!
Last month I took a trip to Thailand and it was amazing!! Today's outfit is what I wore in Pattaya. Pattaya is a beach city and it is hot all year round. My suggestion is that you wear breathy clothes there. My plan was to roam around a lot that day so I went for a very comfortable outfit. I also wanted to add some chic to my ensemble and so I wore this Zaful off-shoulder top. I paired this top with shorts and sneakers to walk around with ease.
Off-shoulder top: I got this top from Zaful. I love the light blue color and the very fine stripes on it. The ruffled off shoulder sleeves add a chic factor to it. It is breathy and doesn't come with a very tight fitting which allows you to wear it for the entire day and do any activity that you want. It is also very affordable. The one thing that I would want to change about it is the material. It is cotton blend material. I really wish it was pure cotton. It would have become my staple in the wardrobe for this season!
Black Striped Backpack: I love love love this backpack! Since the day it has arrived, I have stopped using all other bags. It is so comfortable to carry around and it goes with almost every outfit. I like its minimalist studs detail. The size of the bag makes it appropriate for all occasions. It can carry all your essentials including a water bottle and a cardigan (which I feel is very important when you are travelling). It comes with a lot of pockets which help you segregate your things in the bag. And the best part is that it comes with  a sling bag and a pouch.

Fun with cape!

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying the great time of festivities! Good food and family time...I am loving it!
The weather is getting slightly chilly and it is the perfect time to flaunt all the winter fashion. I have had this cape with me for more than a year now and I never dared to wear it. Today, I finally decided to have some fun with it. Since it is so full of colors, I decided to keep the rest of the ensemble plain black to let the cape stand out. I wanted to try bit of a goth chic look so I teamed it up with a choker and studded footwears and bag.

It is actually affecting my fashion sense also... lol! I mean I just lay my hands on pastels and whites these days... :)
It is so hot that I just don't like to go out! So I was sitting around and browsing different websites to buy something, when I thought of making an ensemble. I made this one keeping in mind the summer heat. This ensemble can be worn for any evening event such as a wedding party, drinks with your girls or even a date! I have picked up everything from Dresssale.
Well I would love to go all white this summer!! How about you all??

Summer Office Look

Hi!!
I am so happy today...because I get off till Monday! A whole extra day!! Yesterday I had to give a presentation in my office which was quite important. The day I have to give presentations are the only days when I am really in formal attire. So...I thought  I should use this opportunity for a formal OOTD...
I have opted for a pink top keeping in mind the spring with lace work which is one of the greatest trend this summer. The lace work in the front and back of the top makes it look extra extra pretty! I love this high waist pants from Vero Moda as it really help hide your bulges! I have used black wedges which have a golden lining just to give it a girly touch, And I have kept all the accessory to be pearls. It simply adds elegance to the entire outfit. I am wearing pearl neckpiece, earrings and rings. Here is the breakdown of my outfit:
Top: RIG (Pantaloons)
Pants: Vero Moda
Shoes/Wedges: Abu Dhabi (Forgot store name)
Neck Piece and Earrings: Gifted
Watch: Calvin Klein
Rings: Courtesy BornPretty Store (Can also be seen HERE)

Oops....almost forgot...Offcourse my presentation went amazing ;) (Dressing up definitely boosts my confidence!!)

Dilemmas of a part time blogger

Hello ladies!
How have you been doing? Today I am going to talk about something that probably a lot of you might relate to. A lot of the fellow bloggers that I have come across are students or working women who are blogging part time (just like me!). I have gone through both the phases and according to my experience you can still find time to write and other stuffs as a student but as a working women it is impossible! After a year or so in blogging (like I am) it becomes a very important part of your life. And when you don't get time for this, it just makes you so very sad!

I'll share my very honest experience with you all. Everyday I have been seeing my pageviews and comments decreasing and the worst part is I know I can do something about it but just don't get the time. It is actually a nightmare for a blogger...I mean I do have some time on weekdays...but writing is not just a mode that I can come back from the office and switch on! There are times when I really want to write but simply can't (because of time crunch...random people in my house...etc!!).  I want to give so much of time and write some quality posts and do other things for my blog and all I do is nothing. I come back home at around 8 at night, then I change and do other things and by the time I am on my laptop it is around 10 already. I open my blogger's dashboard and facebook page then. I check out the feeds on facebook and what others have written; all this while planning in my head what to write. And by the time I actually open a new post, I am drained of all my creative energies atleast (and also my mum starts shouting.. "sleep...you need to go to office tomorrow...!!") and I get irritated and sleep. I have actually tried everything from getting straight to writing without seeing what anybody else has done (While I love this approach but it is not possible to get in that inspirational mode on weekdays) to waking up early in the morning for my blog which just leaves me thinking about my blog all day long.
All this has made me so frustrated. But after nearly a month's long frustration I have finally come to this understanding that I can't really do both (work and blog). But the real dilemma is that I can't leave either one! So in the past one month I have really fought with myself and come to this conclusion that instead of writing crappy posts on weekdays just for the sake of satisfying my ego( that I am active on my blog) I would rather shift to being a weekend blogger. Trust me it is not a simple decision when you see your fellow bloggers updating their blogs every single day! I mean it actually really pains that you can't do all that you wish to. But you have to accept this harsh truth that there is just 24 hours a day!
So my dear dear readers as much as it pains and I am tempted to write on weekdays, I have decided to strictly keep my fingers off my blog on weekdays just to not compromise with the quality. I really hope you all would be supportive about it. And don't worry I would check your comments all week long!! <3 <3
Phew... it feels so good getting all that off my chest! I am so relieved now!
Do let me know what are your thoughts about it? Do you feel the same? Or you have some ways to deal with it.. I would love to know any suggestions!!

PS: I do not own the above image. It has been downloaded from google.

What to buy from Bandra street market (Hill Road)?

Hello Ladies!
How are you? I am not so well myself... I am down with flu (and it is not even cold in Mumbai!). :(
So I thought let me utilize this bed rest to write the post I have been meaning to write since so long. This post is for anyone who plans to visit Mumbai and wants a taste of its street shopping or even for those Mumbaikars who have not visited Hill Road, Bandra for a while now.  Bandra (Mumbai) has two street markets namely the Linking Road and Hill Road. I have had a chance to visit both these markets and in my opinion Hill Road is way better! Here is a list of great bargains that you should go for in Hill Road:

My something "mid calf and boho"...

Hello ladies!
Whenever I yearn to give blogging  more time, it always happens that I become more busy! So without cribbing about what happened last week I want to simply move on to the post like nothing happened (lol!)... I have been collaborating with Rosegal.com since November now. First they held a giveaway on my blog and then they sent me this lovely Cartoon character print dress. When I was searching their website it was so difficult to choose just one thing that was below 20$. They have so much to offer all for below 20$! (I had also mentioned my favorites here) The best part about is that they have FREE SHIPPING! I would confess that when it comes to shopping, there are a very few websites that I trust  my money with. And this is definitely one of them. So I recommend this website to all you guys not just for checking out but also for shopping. The last thing that I loved about them was that they didn't bother me with too many collaborating "conditions". Usually you loose all the excitement by simply reading the long list of conditions that the websites give you (I am sure most of you would have experienced!). You would love the website for the stylish designs, economic pricing and most importantly for having no extra hidden costs like shipping!
Coming back to the dress... I don't know where to begin...I chose this dress because it imbibes in it a lot of season's latest trends. It is mid-calf as well has this boho feel to it which are both a hit this season as mentioned here. I love how it appears to be a long skirt with a top (This is as close as I can get to wearing a skirt!). I have styled it with a lot of black and golden accessories. And to complete the look I used red on my nails and lips!
Ooooops...almost forgot to mention... I got a new haircut ladies!! :D

Adlabs and Aztec...

Hi!!
Happy Monday...!!
The weekend is gone so quickly...! I was busy with my sister and her kids lately who were visiting me here in Mumbai...  I can finally catch some breath now since  they are gone ... But damn I miss them... :(
Today I am showing you pretty ladies an outfit I wore recently to visit an amusement park called Adlabs Imagica.

About the outfit:
Remember ladies, how aztec was on fire last year? I was a little unsure about them for this year. But then I saw the collection of many designers (would be writing about it soon!) and the tribal print still goes on strong!!
The dress is one of my glorious street finds. I spotted this one in Bandra (Would be telling about that too in another post...:) ). I love it for the color and the print. I have paired a pink colored stocking with the dress bought from Pieces ( available at Vero Moda). With this I am wearing my current favorite ballet flats (I wore them here & here). The accessories (pendant, earrings and shades) are from Twenty4 (Fashion store in Abu Dhabi).

Yellow winters with Persunmall...

Hello lovelies!
How chilly is it at your place?? Well I am wearing summer dresses here in Mumbai!! :D
It feels so weird to have missed on an entire season of cold and chill. I feel so deprived! I had actually bought winter wears from Dubai and was all excited to wear them. Anyways..enough of the cribbing... So to feel the winter blues I decided to make an ensemble... Moreover I had promised you all  in my last post to come up with a winter ensemble. So here it is!!

I was inspired to make this ensemble while browsing through Persunmall. For all of those who don't know about this website...it is a China based online fashion store. I especially love it for its dynamic nature. They actually upload new trends everyday...literally everyday!! You get Asian trendy clothes at a very affordable price. Something is available for every price range. I would strongly recommend you to visit the website and check it for your self. :)

The "not so cold January"...

Hello!
Before I say anything else...a very Happy New year to all of you..! Hope you all had a blast welcoming it. My internet betrayed me at the last moment so could not wish you earlier... :(
Anyways...moving on...I know most of you are experiencing peak winters right now. But in Mumbai the temperature is like 30 degrees during day time! It is freaking hot...so I can't help but still post outfits which are summer friendly. I surely am missing the chilly winters and so would try to make a few winter inspired ensembles for you all soon!
My today's outfit is perfect for a shopping day out. I am wearing a dress with a flowery print. I bought it from Colaba Market (very famous thrift market in Mumbai). I simply love it for the cut at the back. With it I am wearing accessories (earrings and pendant) from Tweny4. The bag I bought from Westside store. And the ballet flats that have been featured in my last post too are from ebay.com. The cute shades are borrowed from my baby niece...!! :p

Minty ode to my college: OOTD

Hello there!
I am writing after such a looooooong time! I was very busy with winding up things from my college. And then my entire family was together so had no time to visit my blog... :/ But would try and be regular now although I know this entire month would be busy again for me. And why is that?? Because I am visiting Abu Dhabi at the end of this month!! I am super excited!! Yayie... :D  I hope everything goes smoothly and I get the visa... Do comment if you know where to visit and what  to buy in Abu Dhabi. It would be really very helpful. :)
So today's OOTD is my final OOTD from my college. I did it on my last day. I know it is not that great because I had packed and sent off all my accessories and had to make do with the very little I had. Also the weather was so hot and humid that my hair looked horrible. :( But nonetheless I love it as it was my last one from my college. The first picture has the main building of my college and I was so paranoid posing as there were so many people there!
This spring mint color is really popular So I also thought to go for it. I bought this polka dot mint top from a street market in Mussoorie (Uttarakhand). I just love it and paired it with my black jeans and peep toes. I use mint shade for my nails too. <3
Here I am wearing:
Mint top: Street Find
Black Jeans: Only
Peep toed Ballet Flats: Chief 19 store (Sector 17, Chandigarh)
Watch: Calvin Klein
Earrings: Bought from Germany (Don't remember the store name)

Splash Fashion League & InFB Challenge

Hey beauties!!
Today when I came online, I was very excited to see a contest by InFB (Indian Fashion Blogger) in which the winner would get a chance to go to Dubai!! Can anything be better than this?? For all those who don't know about Indian Fashion Blogger I would recommend you to visit the website. It is a portal for  India fashion bloggers where you can meet your fellow bloggers and come across great contests.

Moving back to the present contest...the  InFB in association with splash fashion league is sponsoring an all expenses paid trip to Dubai for one of the lucky bloggers. Not only this, you get to attend the Splash Fashion Show showcasing Spring-Summer collection of 2013! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!  :D

I love challenges which involve creating looks with limited resources in hand and so I thoroughly enjoyed creating these ensembles. I hope you would enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

To participate in the contest all you have to do is create an ensemble using pictures from pinterest and post it on your blog. It is the simplest way to go to Dubai ladies... :)
Check out the contest here...

Here are my ensembles for the contest:

Ensemble 1: "Quirky Black & White" Look
I have seen endless celebrities carrying these vertically striped black and white pants and becoming the talk of the town. The most notable of them are Fergie, Elle Machpherson and Heidi Klum and they were also a part of Giorgio Armani spring collection, 2004. So I decided to build a look using it. With the pants in mind, I chose this black shirt with a knot collar. To add a little bling to the outfit, I added a blue ring and those matching earrings. Since it is a casual outwear look, I added those sunglasses to go with it.

Ensemble 2: "Spring is back" Look
The fashion show would be showcasing the spring-summer collection. The spring brings back life and colors all around us. So I was inspired to put together a light, full of color and yet elegant look. The orange (being my favorite color) pants add color and hence life to the look. It has been paired with a lace top which add elegance to the ensemble. The lace stands for spring in this look. The orange pants have been matched up with silver and golden accessories. The earrings are over sized which have been compensated with very delicate silver & golden bracelets and a small owl pendant. This look is also for a casual day out so I clubbed it with the sunglasses.
